It’s a proven quote\fact…or is it?
Wish to share a recent experience around that…but first, let’s refresh on few terms.
- Inventor: the person who invents something new, was not there before and s\he created that.
- Innovator: the person who taken an “Invention” and transforms it into an idea that is completely radical and it is very much possible that even the “Inventor” may not have thought about it.
- Evangelist: the person who believes in something and wants to talk about it, share with others…basically spread the word around (in a nice way).
- Believers\Supporters: people who believe in the idea (invention\innovation) and support it; they are more or less “Evangelists” of a kind.
I am sure you would have heard about the Ice Bucket Challenge from one or the other channels(news\Facebook\twitter) out there. it’s a great way to spread awareness around ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and many influential people have been involved in this activity. This I would say was kind of an “Invention” by someone smart, don't want to get into who and when, besides that’s not the focus of this blurb either.
Fast forward few days, here come the “Innovator”, a journalist “Manju Latha Kalanidhi” (from southern city of Hyderabad) and takes the idea to a different level altogether…it’s a blessing in disguise for the needy!
Here I am the “Evangelist\Supporter”, talking about the whole idea, admiring the thought and you the “Believer\Supporter” continuing to read until here…and I am pretty sure you would agree with me :-)
I can bet that the Inventor may not have thought about the “Rice” thing and the Innovator may not have got the idea of it without seeing\reading\hearing about the “Ice Bucket Challenge”.
If that is not true then maybe we change the quote to…“Some of US ARE as smart as ALL of US”…instead!
